
National Aviation Academy - New England Announcement
National Aviation Academy, a leader in Aviation Maintenance and Avionics Training headquartered in Clearwater, FL, has completed the aquisition of Wyotech's Bedford, MA Aeronautical Maintenance Technology School from Corinthian Colleges, Inc. on May 1, 2008.
National Aviation Academy has interest in Wyotech's Bedford, MA school because of the current and future shortage of aviation maintenance technicians. Michael Wisniewski, President of National Aviation Academy commented "It’s great to operate such an important school in aviation. This will help us better meet the needs of the aviation maintenance community given the increasing demand for aviation maintenance technicians and the projected growth of the aviation community".
About Wyotech's Bedford, MA AMT School
Established in 1932 and formerly East Coast Aero Tech, WyoTech, is based at Hanscom Air Field and is comprised of 36,000 square feet of space for labs, shops, classrooms, and administrative offices. Hanscom Air Field is one of the busiest airports in New England serving both military and civilian aviation requirements. Two buildings form a campus that puts all activities within easy walking distance. The John T. Griffin, Sr. Building, is located on the flight line and is 30,000 square feet. It houses the school's administrative offices, several spacious classrooms, as well as shop/lab hangar areas for the AMT curriculum. The Catherine A. Mayo Building is a 6,000 square foot facility and contains modern classrooms and labs. Located just 15 miles northwest of Boston, Massachusetts, the school is in the town of Bedford, an attractive historic area between the towns of Lexington and Concord, near the Minuteman National Park. Shops and labs are equipped with aircraft and aircraft system mock-ups used to train students in the repair of today's state-of-the-art aircraft. Federal Pell Grants, Federal Stafford Student Loans, Federal PLUS loans, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, VA Benefits, are available for those who qualify.
